Khel Maharan in Assam expectation, results and outcome

As Khel Maharan registration is already completed in September  30, 2023,  the Government of Assam is ready with all infrastructure and  schedules of  the great sports extravaganza which is very appropriately termed as biggest sports andolan in Assam by the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.The Khel Maharan is scheduled to be held from 1st  November 2023 to 10th January 2024

Who can participate in Khel Maharan Assam 2023

In a concerted effort to boost and brush up the rural talents and support them with required infrastructure and exposure to organized competition this Khel Maharan could be a great milestone for Sports in Assam. The basic eligibility criteria for Khel Maharan is that the candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. Minimum and maximum age limit is 15 to 19 years. 

 It is always assumed that rural India is powerhouse of talents unexposed or underexposed. Be in Football or be it boxing rural India has contributed to Sports like anything. However, due to lack of opportunity, lack of sports organizations, lack of government effort only those sports-stars are shining who have made it possible by their own effort or their parents' effort or for some  divine intervention or timed connection. Hence, in this biggest sports event to be held in Assam, it is expected that the youngsters of Assam,  who were never fall short of talent will get the opportunity long due and this shall be an opportunity for getting a bigger platforms. Now that the talented Assamese women sports person like Lovlina Borgohain, Hima Das, Nayanmani Saikia who have been coming from rural backgrounds and shining like never before, this is great on the part of Assam Government led by the ever dynamic Chief Minister of Assam. 

Mascot of Khel Maharan Assam 2023

 On 6th  October, 2023, the Khel Maharan Mascot Maharaj Dodan is unveiled. It is saud to have blessed with immense physical powers and forefather of Rabha tribe of Assam and nephew of King Bana mentioned in Mahabharata. 

Sports included in the events of Khel Maharan are basically Kabaddi, Athletics, Football, Volleyball and Kho kho. All the primary events shall be conducted at Gram Panchayat level and ward level in all districts of Assam and Bodoland Territorial Area Districts. 50 lakhs of players are targetted to be participating int the events.
