Festivals


Assamese people love festivals. They simply can't do without. From the very beginning of their calendar year at Bohag (mid April according to Roman calendar) they celebrate hundreds of small or big festivals throughout the year. Assam's national festival is bihu and there are several bihus that are celebrated across the year.
Wherever Assamese people stay they cannot do without Bihu and their Assam's favourite bihu songs and Dhol. Non-Assamese  people who have stayed in Assam at any moment of their lives cannot forget Bihu too. Recently In my daughter's school Adiya Academy School at Kolkata children performed a beautiful Bihu which instantly connected to the audience who do not understant Assamese .
