Assam one match away from victory at Vijay Hazare Trophy Finals

Sports is not the field wheree Assam has tasted success a lot, and surely not in Cricket. Hosting some important tournaments in Guwahati were so far considered as ultimate success of Assam Cricket Association. But the Players of Assam Cricket Team in ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy is proving it wrong. The underdog Assam has first surprised Madhyapradesh in the Pre-quarter Finals on Tuesday, 25th March. The victory was pulled by the bowlers of Assam Team this time.

On Thursday in another stunner Assam tamed Mumbai Team and faced Kerala in Saturdays Semi Final. And oh! boy. It was again a win. Kerala Team was enriched with experienced and aggressive players like S.Sreesanth.  Assam Coach Subhajit Saikia commented  before the match that playing a player like Sreesanth will only enhance the experience of Assam Team and and it would be only good for the team.

While seasoned and experienced teams like Bengal are fumbling in the way to reach to the Trophy Assam will play the Final match against Delhi. Moreover it is Assam's Maiden final in Vijay Hazare Trophy. In a way it will be a good sign for Assam if they do not falter under pressure because they all are in good form and full of confident at this moment. Bikash Baruah, secretary of  Assam Cricket Association was seen visibly ecstatic after Assam's  Saturday win over Kerala and very hopeful about the Final. And declared one Lakh cash for each member of the Assam Team. In the Final Vijay Hazare Trophy match Assam will play Delhi who beat the defending champion Bengal led by another pro Laksmi Ratan Shukla.

Assam Vijay Hazare Team: Abu Nechim Ahmed (capt), Dheeraj Jadhav, Pallab Das, Shib Shankar Roy, Tarjinder Singh, J Syed Mohammad, Gokul Sharma, Amit Sinha, Rajdeep Das (wk), Pritam Das, Arup Das, Sekhar Jyoti Barman, Samik Das, Dipak Gohain, Pritam Debnath.

All the best to Assam!
